Athena Aviation recently completed a business plan review for FastJet, the new African low cost carrier backed by Stelios Haji Iannou, the founder of easyJet and Lonrho Plc, an industrial conglomerate with over one hundred years of experience of conducting business in Africa. FastJet is due to commence operations later this year, opening bases in Dar es Salaam, Nairobi and then Luanda or Accra, growing swiftly to a fleet of 15 aircraft within the first year of operation.
The engagement was conducted by a small Athena Aviation team who have advised on or directly line managed four airline start-ups in Africa, the Middle East and Europe.
