Revenue Management is not Software or a Mathematical Equation. Revenue Management is a Philosophy! In this workshop, we discuss the “human factor” on the path to O&D.

 

With all the research of scientists and technicians, and the equations and IT capabilities to calculate more in less time, the possibilities created with revenue management have increased over the past decades.

 

From humble beginnings in inventory control, revenue management has grown into leg based and more recently into origin and destination revenue management as a gateway to the new frontier of market based revenue management. With this maturity comes increasing complexity.

 

Airlines must recognise that people will continue to be critical users of these tools and systems and thus play a central role in any revenue management organisation, and this will not change in the near future. All the technical developments are changing their work, their responsibilities and the skills needed.

 

In this workshop we will discuss the above advancements and the change processes when moving from leg based Revenue Management to ODM based Revenue Management.
