7-8 March 2012 ITB Berlin
Shakeel Adam and Michael Kanacher from Athena Aviation will attend the ITB Berlin Convention on the 7th and 8th of March. This event is considered one of the leading gatherings in the travel industry. It brings together airlines, airports, tour operators, GDSs and all other parts of the value chain to meet, discuss and coordinate activities in the industry. For more information visit the convention website www.itb-convention.com.
ITB 2011 had a positive atmosphere with many tourist organisations and airlines seeming very upbeat on the prospects for renewed growth in Tourism. Economic challenges have dampened spirits in many parts of the world and it needs to be seen how the mood at this year's event will compare.
Looking forward to ITB 2012, Athena expects continued, but softer interest in Middle East markets. However, African and Latin American regions should continue to garner significant attention both as touristic and business markets.
Airlines will likely come out less strongly as many of the stable names graple with tough economic conditions, consolidation, restructuring and uncertainty.
If you will be at ITB Berlin 2012, we'd welcome the opportunity to meet you. Please contact Shakeel or Michael and we look forward to seeing you at the show.
